About The United Blog

I learned to play soccer as a kid in the '90s, on a youth team in the States. Our coach, a Manc, was a massive United fan. So every kid on that team learned the game from a real Englishman, and got English football with it, right when United were the best team in the country.

I fell in love with that team. Ferguson's United of the '90s, all the way to the Treble in 1999, is still my favorite United side.

That's where The United Blog comes from. We're United fans in the States, writing for fans who set an alarm for a 7:30 a.m. kickoff and for fans everywhere else. You don't have to live here to read it. You just have to care how United are doing. The '90s side is the standard we hold the club to now.

If you're wondering whether Americans can really be United fans: a Manc taught me. Take it up with him.

How we work

These are opinions, and we'll argue for them. The facts under them are checked: numbers come from the match data, quotes are from what we actually read, and a rumor is never passed off as news. Spot a mistake? Tell us at [corrections address to be chosen] and we'll fix it.
